Living With All The Lies.

Why are you all lying?

When we were kids, we were told to always trust people who constantly lied to us, to always believe anything anyone said, if we liked that person. We were told it’s perfect normal and acceptable for our elected officials to use their office and power to enrich themselves, with the American public paying the bill. We were told its ok if health insurance only pays when they want and how much they want, while raising your premiums. We were told all news organizations were the communistic liberal media and that we should believe nothing they say, even if they provide undeniable proof. We were told Fox News was the impeachable truth, even after Mr. Rubert Murdoch admitted under oath that several Fox News hosts intentionally lied on camera, and he did nothing to stop them. We were told to trust everything our teachers taught us, unless it involved slavery, race relations, the economy, history, or politics.

This is, of course, ridiculous. We were taught to honor the truth and use it as our guide. We were taught to be skeptical of everything, not buying into the first thing that sounds good, but to do our own research, using multiple sources to try to determine the real story. We were taught to think for ourselves, no matter how much of an inconvenience that might be to us.

If you’ve read this far, you either feel good about yourself for doing you best to be someone who does actually think for yourself or you resent me and these ideas because they are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable because you don’t look to multiple sources for news, because you voted for a convicted criminal, a serial liar, a serial cheater at golf and every other game he’s played, a serial cheater and liar in his three marriages (he actually cheated on his first wife while she was pregnant with their first child.), a man who views empathy as weakness, a man who admires dictators and makes every effort to be just like them, and a man who started a war with Iran without congressional approval, without a clear plan, and without any reason. That’s right, this man sent American troops into battle across the world for no reason at all. And you voted for this man. I don’t blame you. If I was that profoundly stupid, I’d resent someone pointing that out as well.

Let’s take a look at our glorious leader’s PERFECT behavioral patterns:

  • Pathological Liar\Delusional – In today’s world the truth is determined by who can yell the loudest and the longest. Don’t let your kids get held back by “bad grades” and “irresponsible behavior”. We know these are libtard words for “Creative Thinking” and “Working Outside The Box”.  These are the cornerstones on which your child can build a future. There’s no need to worry about good grades, indeed, education is the least important thing in the development of a future leader. Make sure your young leader can convincingly lie and you’re halfway there!  Encourage your child to think of themselves as better than others, even if the “facts” would suggest otherwise. Make sure your child knows that all reality bends to their desires and always will.
  • Thin Skinned\Profound Insensitivity – Teach your little leader that they should expect nothing less than exceptional praise and outright adoration from everyone they meet (regardless of that “person’s” value.) Anything less should be met with the most scathing and brutal of attacks. Anyone exhibiting such dangerous opinions will respond positively to the most aggressive and hostile personal attacks.  Teach them that others will appreciate the hate and vitriol they use to bring them back in line. Remind your Caesar\Cleopatra that other “people” aren’t like them and don’t really have feelings.
  •   Narcissism is Neat! – Remind your future king\queen that image is everything and nothing else matters. Your future God\Goddess will be the Perfect Example of the  pinnacle of physical, mental, and emotional development.  (This is fundamentally true regardless of any outdated standards to which others may adhere.) Your child is far too elite to accept the outdated standards of others. Your child is the very MANIFESTATION of perfection! Anyone who does not immediately recognize this should be corrected swiftly and appropriately.
  • Fairness, competency,  and integrity, are concepts to be left in the dust by the leaders of tomorrow – Make sure your young Lord\Lady knows that what they want at any given moment is the most important issue in the universe  This may confuse “others” and they may even show some resistance to this fundamental concept. Again, sub-persons such as this must be attacked and corrected using whatever means necessary. Your child has no need for the outdated concept of “fair”.  Fair can only be defined as what is best for your child.  No other definition is appropriate. “Competency” is an idea for sub-persons as your child is fundamentally competent, as everything they do is perfect in every way. Integrity is of course, irrelevant as your little leader exudes the actual manifestation of truth with every word, action, or deed.  Everything they do is, by definition, Absolutely True and Perfect.

Using these guidelines will ensure that your little Tyrant will be well on their way to becoming our next Perfect Dictator Of All Time!

Why are these people smiling?

They know a secret. You hear them saying how it’s time for us to put aside our silly fears about getting sick and dying and make this country rich again!

They say people may get sick and die but that’s ok if it moves the economy in the right direction.

They say people’s lives are simply the price we must pay for a booming economy right now.

That’s sort of a hard thing to say.

If so, why are they smiling?

It’s the secret.  That makes them smile. What’s the secret?

The secret is, they have zero intention of putting themselves, their families, or anyone else they care about at risk.

The people who must risk their lives are the unwashed masses.

In other words, us.

The politicians want us to risk it all so that they can stay in power.  No matter the cost.

They don’t care.  Maybe they did once, but they don’t now.

You’re nothing more than a number to any one of the smiling people.

See, the secret is, they get to live and prosper regardless of the plight of the rest of us.

The Democrats will take control of Congress. They will make it clear that they intend to begin impeachment. Considering that The carrot-faced baby-man is a spineless coward, he won’t face up to his crimes. He’ll come up with some bullshit reason for quitting. I’d guess health or business reasons. He’ll call his presidency a great victory and his idiot followers will believe him. We’ll trade one useless waste of space for another, Pence the Dense.

Will it end there?

That depends on just how well the Democrats do in the mid-term elections.  If they win big, this will be a mandate to pursue charges against the baby-man.  If it’s a close victory, they’ll just wave goodbye as the bloated carrot-faced slug slimes his way home.

There was one very difficult task associated with writing this piece; finding a picture of Mr. Giuliani that doesn’t make him look batshit crazy.

Clearly the full-time job of spinning outlandish lies for the carrot-faced, morbidly obese, man-baby called Trump is taking Rudy away from his first love and true calling: making funny faces for the media

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just sit back and enjoy the hilarious train wreck that is the Trump Presidency.  But we can’t as there are thousands of people who face being hurt or destroyed financially by Trump’s incompetence. Or even worse, their very lives are in danger, like the people in Puerto Rio, also known as the place that doesn’t exist (at least in Trump’s mind.) You see, any place where the people aren’t rich and\or white is (according to Trump) a “shithole” country.

That’s what he said.

Of course he denied saying it but it was recorded, for all to see, again and again. What must it feel like to be from Haiti (the country to which Trump referred) and hear this asshole, the “leader” (and I use that term very loosely) of the free world talk like that?  I’m guessing it’s not very encouraging.

But I digress. Let’s get back to Rudy. Here’s a newsflash: Mr. Giuliani has a reputation for saying stupid stuff, no, I mean really, really stupid stuff.  Here are some examples:

The Hypocrisy of the Religious Right Political Movement.

First and foremost, let me make it perfectly clear that I’m a hard-core atheist. Despite that, I find a great deal of truth in the (selected) teachings of Jesus.

Faith in Christ and in the Christian God were important parts of my life for over 10 years. During that time I spent a great deal of time and effort to read the Bible and learn it’s lessons both on my own and through group study.

The bottom line is  that I have more actual Biblical knowledge than most “Christians”.

This becomes very apparent when I observe the behavior of “Christian” political figures.

It would be easy for me to use my own Biblical knowledge to point out just how wrong headed, hypocritical, and outright wrong (in a scriptural context) most of the prevailing “Religious Right’s” views are.  But the words would be tainted by my own beliefs.

How fortunate that there are actual believers (and quite a few of them) who see the truth as plainly as I do.

Here’s one.  They see the sham that is today’s Christian Politics.

The Incredible Irony of Trump’s Revolution.

Several years ago (prior to President Obama) a friend and I were speculating on the potential for an armed revolution.

No we weren’t planning one, we were just discussing the possibility of one.

At that time we both had given up on the entire political process.  It appeared to be completely controlled by big money.  The average citizen appeared to be  powerless to have any real say in who gets elected to federal office.

We speculated that if things continued to get worse for the common working person, there would be a point where the heated liquid of overall public angst boiled over into outright armed rebellion, essentially a French revolution in the US.

But then President Obama was elected and I gradually allowed myself to believe that change was actually possible.

And then Trump was elected.

Certainly there were many factors that allowed that travesty to be possible. But as I observed the people who blindly followed Trump I came to a realization: Those people are exactly the ones that I saw as eventually overthrowing the federal government.  To them, Trump WAS the revolution.

They listened to him make promise after promise.  And ate up every word. This was their chance to take America back to whatever fictional reality they desired.

And all I saw was the terrible irony. Trump has repeatedly made his disdain and perhaps even disgust with anyone who isn’t a “Winner” very clear.

That boils down to being rich.

So if you aren’t rich, you’re nobody.

But his followers, like most of us, have the infinite capacity to unsee anything we don’t want to see.  So they saw what they so very wanted to see; Their savior.

The  painful irony is that he’s done nothing for the working person but has done much against them.

The trade war he’s rushing into will cause prices to fall and jobs to be lost. Companies will close and lives will be destroyed.

For no good reason.

And his blind followers will continue to believe.

There is a part of me that thinks there will come a point in every one of their lives when they are slapped in the face with the actual reality (and consequences) of his idiotic policies.

Maybe when they see friends lose their jobs, homes, lives, etc. Maybe when they lose theirs.

Or maybe never. The grim truth is that there’s always someone else to blame.

When the truth is what Trump says it is, reality is as ephemeral as the morning mist and just as tangible.

 

Trump the Chump – (nearly) One Year In.

Trump has surprised me in many different ways.  Perhaps the biggest surprise is his incredible level of stupidity. I’d forgotten that some people born to great wealth never see the need to seek knowledge, wisdom, or perspective. That seems to be Trump’s reason for being profoundly stupid. He learned early on that you can sell anything to anyone if you don’t mind lying. Trump obviously doesn’t mind lying. This is the second big surprise. From his well documented behavior, I knew he had a habit of making grand promises to close any deal with zero regard or intent of ever keeping said promises.  He’s not changed his approach at all.

And I suppose I can’t really be surprised at the behavior of his supporters.  Imagine how it must feel to have voted for this chump.  Imagine the effort it must take to ignore the obvious.  I can’t.

On the positive side, if you’d ever wanted to imagine a reality where you were much smarter that the POTUS, congratulations!  You are!  Almost all of us are. How ironic that the only people not smarter than this chump are the people that voted for him.
