“Fear No Evil” 1981 is a brooding and languidly paced journey through the hell of high school, made exponentially worse by having Lucifer (in human form) as a classmate. This is essentially “Carrie” 1976. But instead of a young woman with latent telepathic powers bleeding from her hoohaa while being pelted by tampons thrown from her apparently soulless female classmates we have a young man who doesn’t know he’s the human incarnation of Lucifer being pelted by dodgeballs by his apparently soulless male classmates.

This film exists in a universe where all the terrible things you learned in Sunday School are real and much, much worse. In this universe Angels manifest as warriors to fight and kill demons and Lucifer himself. But for some reason their success or failure doesn’t seem to matter as the whole thing repeats after a period of time. It’s like WWE without the colorful characters. There is some very disturbing imagery and violence. This is one to watch in a dark room at midnight. Just be sure to have several crucifixes and a gallon of holy water. It’s included with Amazon Prime and is also streaming on Tubi
Who knows what will happen next time?
See you then.
